Today we had gym, we played hula hut.  We did a short round of literature circles.  We uploaded our movies to our google drive and shared them with Mrs. Gordon.  We are bringing home Friday journals.  Reminders: Please dress for the weather. Conferences are next Thursday evening and Friday morning Book Fair is next week  We are doing a Food Bank Drive for the holidays...please bring in non-perishable food items for donation

Today we started our Voice project - we are going to become advocates for the Grasslands.  We finished researching about the ways Indigenous Peoples and Settlers used the land.  In gym we played Hula Hut.  We did Literature Circles this morning.  We did Think It Thursday.  Reminders: Dress for the weather - we will be going outside if it is warmer than -20. We have a half day tomorrow. 

Today we did True or False Tuesday in math.  In gym we played Crazy Cricket.  In music we did a mood map to tell a story.  We worked on our i movies. We did some more research about the ways that Settlers and Indigenous Peoples used the land.   Reminders:  Dress for the weather Practice times tables - grade 4 - 7 x7 and grade 5 - 9 x 9

Today we read an article about Bison being reintroduced to Banff National Park.  We did Make it Monday in math.  In Gym we did alphabetical exercises.  Some people re-did their tree art with a slight adjustment.  Some people had time for i-movies.  Reminders: Be prepared for the changing weather - bring mitts, toques, snow pants and warm boots.   

Today we created aspen tree art.  We played bench ball in gym.  We worked on our movie reflections.  Reminders: No school tomorrow We are not bringing home Friday Journals today because we had so many things to do. :) 

Today we worked on our grassland reflection videos.  We did our literature circles and guided reading.  We did research about the ways that Indigenous Peoples used land and and the ways that the Settlers used the land.  We are making presentations to be the voice of the land.   Reminders:  Special Lunch tomorrow  No school on Friday 

Today we did our Make it Monday math since we didn't do it yesterday.  We also started a math journal entry about area and perimeter.  We worked on our mural reflection, we planned out what we will say in our video.  We read a story by David Bouchard titled, "The Elders are Watching".  Reminders:  Practice times tables  Special Lunch is Thursday  Thursday is a full day 

Today we did literature circles and guided reading.  We did the beep test in gym - it was a favourite!  We are going to see how much we improve through the year.  We did a challenging problem in math, we needed to persevere and see our way through it.   Reminders:  Special Lunch on Thursday

We did literature circles this morning, everybody has one job to do in the group and then we have discussions.  We worked on our beaver adaptations sketchbook page.  We sent home thank you cards for our Open Minds volunteers and staff.   Reminders:  Beep test on Monday  Special Lunch next week

Today we did Think it Thursday in Math.  We did a sketchbook page about the beaver and adaptations that help it live in the wetland.  We think our mural is finished!!!  We did our first literature circle groups and some guided reading.  We practiced throwing footballs in gym.  Reminders:  If you have not paid for the Open Minds program, please log on to your myCBE account and pay the fee.   Practice multiplication times tables (7x 7) and (9x9) 

Today we most of us finished up our Open Minds reflection.   We finished our area and perimeter Cross Math.  We wrote rough drafts of thank you's.  We worked on our mural,  We played Yoshi during outside gym.   Reminders:  Practice multiplication facts - grade 4 - 7 x7  and grade 5 to  9 x 9 

Today we did true or false Tuesday in math.  We started a reflection about our Open Minds experience last week.  We finished the background of our mural. We are hoping that tomorrow we get some colour on the animals!  We made thank you cards for everyone involved in our Open Minds experience.  We finished our Aspen tree art that we started at Sandy Cross.   Reminders:   Beep Test on Monday :)
