February 28

We had a fir drill this morning and the Fire Department came to see how we did!  We worked on some social studies - we did some research about Canadians that have impacted our history.  We did Thank you Friday.  We are bringing home Friday Journals. 

February 27

We read a book titled, "Encounter" this morning.  We are focusing on different perspectives and started with the things we remember from the first day of school this year.  We had our Kindness Assembly with Mayor Nenshi.  We finished our cloud poems to go with our art.   Reminders:  Tomorrow please bring Friday Journals 

February 26

We did some work about Pink Shirt day today.  We did an activity about Kindness and the impact that it can have on people.  They will never quite be the same after hurtful words, ask me about "Greenie".  We did Pink Shirt Word Problem Wednesday.  We worked on our Cinquain cloud poems.   Reminders: Kindness Assembly is tomorrow at 10:30 = parents are welcome to join.  The Mayor will be joining us as well.   If students would like to they may wear Purple tomorrow for our assembly.  

February 25

Today in math we did True or False Tuesday.  We finished our Paper Quilling cloud art.  In social we watched two videos about the explorers.  In music we played instruments to go with the song, "Follow the Drinking Gourd".  In gym we played floor hockey.   Reminders:  Pink Shirt Day is tomorrow. Kindness Assembly is Thursday at 10am.  The Mayor is joining us for the assembly. 

February 24

Today we created cloud art using paper quilling.  We started to graph some of our weather data that we collected.  We had a new student start today.  We started a new song in music.   Please see the link below for some school updates. We have some exciting things happening at Bridlewood School this week!  On Wednesday it is Pink Shirt day. Today we made a compass with the microbits.  We worked on our math journals.  We finished our cloud wanted posters.  We wrote our Friday Journals.  Reminders: No School Thursday, Friday or Monday 

February 7

This morning we did some math with our snowflakes.   We wrote Friday Journals, please have a read.  We did a Think It Thursday math problem that we ran out of time for yesterday.   Reminders:  Next week is a short week - Thursday and Friday are no school days for Teacher's Convention.   Wednesday is a full day next week 

February 6

Our science experiment today was creating crystals in our jars.  We did Literature Circles.  In gym we played Crazy Crickets.  This morning we learned about idioms and weather.  For example, "It's raining cats and dogs".   Reminders: Return Friday Journals tomorrow

We did a science experiment today, we made it rain in a jar.  We did Literature circles this morning.  We went to our last Mission Impossible with the Kindergarten kids.  We did word problem Wednesday and finished our Math Journals about multiplication.   Reminders: Bring a clean, glass jar for science tomorrow. 

February 4

We did a science experiment today to learn about hot and cold molecules move differently.  We used jars, hot water and food colouring.  We had Mission Impossible gym with the grade ones. We did True or False Tuesday in math today.  We exchanged social studies region knowledge.  We made thermometer Microbits.  Reminders:  Please bring in a clean glass jar for science

February 3

Today we made clouds in a jar.  We did literature circles this morning and one group shared how they have a discussion.  We started to share our region presentations with a partner to teach someone else what we learned.  We had our first day of Mission Impossible in gym.  Reminders:  Please bring a clean, glass jar for science.
