Online Learning

  Bridlewood School Welcomes You to Online Learning March 29. 2020   Good morning Students, Parents and Guardians, We hope you are well and have had a restful spring break.  We are indeed living in unprecedented times, and filled with wonder in terms of what the future will bring us with ongoing learning.  For the foreseeable future, together we will delve into the world of online learning.  The CBE has spent the past two weeks creating programming opportunities that will be distributed online for our students.  Our teachers are taking up this work on a very steep learning curve to provide learning opportunities & activities that will begin in the next couple of days. The following tentative timeline will assist families in your planning to take up this work at home: Monday, March 30  your child’s homeroom teacher will connect with you to discuss your  child’s access to technology  at home, including  access to a computer  and the  internet.  Teachers will email

March 19 - Part Two

March 19, 2020 Hi Grade 4/5 Families, We hope you are all well and finding fun things to do to occupy your time. We’d like to remind you of the resources sent out by CBE on Tuesday evening: https://cbe.ab.ca/programs/curriculum/learning-at-home/Pages/k-6.aspx   Please make sure to take a look at previous posts on our Grade 4/5 blogs for links to learning activities.   Information changes daily, so it is important to regularly check your emails. We anticipate further information about online learning will be coming after March break (March 23 - 30). March 19

Hello room 79!   I hope you are well and keeping busy - doing some art for windows, reading or practicing math facts!  Or....just hanging out and dong things with your family. :)  We are all waiting for direction from the CBE as to how we will continue our learning journey together after Spring Break.  Stay tuned to the blog or emails for further updates.  You still have access to your google drive and accounts to send me a message that way or through my school email if you feel you need to reach out.  Stay healthy, wash your hands and show kindness.  I am sending you all air hugs and high fives!  

March 13

Today we did our Evergreen performance in the gym for classes that were away yesterday.  We finished our quilts.  We did Friday Journals and Thank you Friday.   Reminders:  Next Week we are doing health lessons.  Parents, please check your emails and the website for any updates.   Student-Led conferences next week have been cancelled.

BWS IMPORTANT PARENT INFORMATION   Dear  Parents & Guardians Based on the changing provincial and local response to COVID-19, the CBE has given us direction to postpone: Evergreen Theater Performance:  Friday, March 13 @ 10:15 am. CANCELLED Student-Led Conferences:  Thursday, March 19th & Friday, March 20 th   CANCELLED, booking system will not open. We will still be having the Scholastic book Fair, due to the directive parents will  NOT  able to attend, as conferences are cancelled. All CBE schools have been given direction to postpone or cancel events that include populations from other schools and/or parents or other community members, such as Parent-Teacher Interviews, celebrations of learning, drama/musical performances, dances, athletic competitions, etc. This decision is effective from Mar. 12 until the end of March break. This decision will be revisited during March break to determine whether events should be rescheduled. Events outside of school h

March 12

We nailed our Evergreen Dress Rehearsal.  We made costume add ons this morning to make our play even greater!  We did a little bit on our quilts (SAM).  Reminders:  The Evergreen Performance is tomorrow at 10:15am.   Health exemption forms need to be handed in by tomorrow.  Conferences next Thursday and Friday.

March 11

We worked on Social/Math/Art quilts to represent the Underground Railroad.  We did Word Problem Wednesday.  We practiced our Evergreen play - it is awesome!  We played a couple quick games and reviewed health expectations.  Reminders:  Our Evergreen Performance is Friday morning at 10:15 Thursday is Fun lunch  Evergreen Info:  http://school.cbe.ab.ca/school/bridlewood/about-us/news-centre/_layouts/ci/post.aspx?oaid=706ec9a9-3378-4206-82be-621b6494bf93&oact=20001 Student Led conferences are next Thursday afternoon and Fri am.   If you are not participating in the health lessons next week - please return exemption forms.  

March 10

This afternoon we switched classes for health - we spent some time meeting the teachers and students that we will be doing health with next week.  We worked on our Evergreeen play - we got scripts and cast the play.  We did True or False Tuesday this morning.  We worked on our Google slide presentation.  Reminders:  Fun lunch is Thursday  Evergreen Theatre Performance on Friday morning - parents and families are invited!  Bring scripts back to school 

March 9

Today we started working with Jamie, our Evergreen Theatre artist. We brainstormed ideas for the play and characters that could be in our play.  In gym we played basketball.  In social we did some reading about the Underground Railroad.   Reminders:  Fun lunch Thursday If you are not participating in health lessons, please return the exemption form.

We worked on a google slide presentation in social. We are bringing home our Friday Journals.  We did Thank you Friday.   Reminders: We are bringing home Read-A-Thon Forms Yesterday we brought home exemption forms for health.  Please only sign and return if your child will not be participating in these lessons. Would you like to order a YEARBOOK, the order deadline has now been extended to March 31 st . You can order and pay online with your MYCBE/PowerSchool account, you will find the fee under School Based Optional Fees. Click on the yearbook icon and you will asked to add to your cart, this will automatically add the $25 fee to your account. You can call the school office ask for the fee to be attached the fee to your account, please email me directly at  catunney@cbe.ab.ca  or call 403 777 6259 with your request.
