December 3

We finished our articles today.  We did True or False Tuesday in math and solved some picture puzzles.  We typed paragraphs on the computers about Grassland animals and plants.  We continued working on our Social Studies projects.  

 Reminders: 

 Conferences are Thursday evening and Friday morning 
Thursday is a half day and Friday is a no school day
Book Fair purchasing begins tomorrow
Outside Gym - be prepared for the weather

Today we had a microbits workshop.  We gathered art supplies for our mural.  We did Think it Thursday in math - we worked on challenging problems.   Reminders:   Field trip forms are coming home today - please sign and return by October 30.  There is an extra media release form separate from the school forms.  This form needs to be signed and returned as well.   Please read previous blog posts with more info about our Open Minds program.    Tonight is the Halloween Dance

Open Minds School

Dear Parents,  As many of you are aware, we will be attending an Open Minds Program in November.  We are very fortunate to be going to Ann and Sandy Cross Conservation Area November 4-8.  We are looking for 3-5 volunteers per day to attend this program with us.  If we do not have enough volunteers, there is a possibility that we will not be able to go.  There is still time to get a police clearance and sign the volunteer registration forms!   If you are able to volunteer for any or all of these days, please let me know!  I am happy to find a spot for any parents that are able to join us that week!   Thank you for your support!  Mrs. Gordon

October 17

Today we went to the pond, learned and practiced a new journalling technique called "Event Mapping".  We had gym.  We did a math journal practice and started our own entry about representing numbers.  We worked on two biofact stations.   Reminders:  Halloween Dance ticket forms are coming home today.  We are still in need of volunteers for Nov. 5,6,7.
